Using two manila folders and skills gained in the Drafting/CAD course, students had to design and build a model bridge. This project was based on the West Point Military Academy scholarship contest. Students used the West Point bridge building simulator to understand basic bridge design and create their own bridge design. They took the design and created detail drawings using AutoCAD LT 2012. Using construction methods, students built 3D model of their design. The winning bridge weighted 42.4 grams and held 6350 gram of sand. Other projects in the Drafting/CAD course includes green dream house design, cardboard chair, and trebuchet.
