
![]() The Culinary Occupation students sat down today and enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal they prepared and cooked together. They enjoyed turkey and all the trimmings.
The first annual Chili Cook-Off was held between students and staff. The results have been totaled and the winners were:
1st Place: "Simmer and Spice" 2nd Place: "Kicken Chicken" 3rd Place: "Deer Chili on the Run" Law Enforcement students also had a chance to visit the Knox County Jail on a recent field trip. Students were given the chance to view the communication center, tour the booking rooms, a holding cell and kitchen area. Students enjoyed getting the behind the scene look inside the jail.
CNA students continue working towards completeing 40 hours of clinical time and preparing for the IDPH state exam.
Early Childhood Education I classes, students completed their 1st lesson on reading a storybook to a small or large group. They had to observe the children, write up a lesson plan, complete their lessons with the children and self-evaluate. It was a big success. They are now preparing to complete their 2nd lesson on teaching a song to the children.
The Welding class recently attended North America’s largest metal forming, fabricating, welding and finishing event on November 19th, at the McCormick Place in Chicago IL. FABTECH represents every step of the metal manufacturing process from start to finish. It’s where new ideas, products and technology are highlighted through interactive exhibits, education and networking. Students were able to compare solutions from 1,500+ exhibitors, find tools to improve quality and productivity and learn ways to increase profits in reference to metal manufacturing.
