
The Culinary Occupation class will begin their internship in the upcoming weeks. Students will intern at ten local restaurants and take their first real steps toward a promising restaurant and foodservice career. Experience gained in local restaurants will help the students figure out their future endeavors and possibly create networking opportunities.
The Health Occupation class has started term 3, with 24 new students ready to learn how to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. The first few months the students will be learning about professionalism, resident rights,
communication, proper documentation, and infection control measures.
Early Childhood Education II students have started term 3, gaining experience at Gale Elementary and Galesburg Schools Childcare Center. This course allows students to work with certified staff member & create and present lessons, keep journals, complete timecards, and write in daily job-logs. Students will focus more on the lead teacher/director responsibilities and duties.
Sixty dual credit students will begin classes Monday, January 11, at
Carl Sandburg College. Students are enrolled in Welding, Auto II, Network Technology, Electricity and Pharmacology/Medical Terminology.
