While progressing through this term 3, we have taught our students about the holistic importance of the well-being of an EMT-B in the field; including ample and adequate outlets to combat stress, fatigue, restlessness, and burnout. Additional topics covered include basic concepts of Human Anatomy, effective airway management,
the field patient assessment, and the complexities of managing a medical emergency.
It is also important to take note that this course is typically reserved for college level curriculum, is incredibly time consuming, and requires a tremendous level of commitment and dedication on behalf of the student. We have an excellent group of young men and women in our class this term and look forward to further collaborating with Galesburg Cottage Hospital, St. Mary's Medical Center, Galesburg Hospital Ambulance Service, and the Galesburg Fire Department to further develop our students into the Emergency Medical Service workers of
