In recognition of the personal and professional ideals exemplified by Roy F. Damberg, a committee of Galesburg citizens established a scholarship for a GHS graduate. The recipient must have a “C” average and be in the upper half of the graduating class, exhibit good character and ability in his/her chosen field, attend an accredited institution of higher learning, have the personal characteristics needed to work well in his/her chosen field, and be considered academically qualified to complete his/her course of study. This year’s recipient of the Roy F. Damberg Memorial Scholarship of $250 is Eric Cole. Eric plans to pursue his education at St Ambrose University and major in nursing
